PIL against Navi Mumbai Airport filed

The court has issued notice to the CIDCO and kept the matter on March 28 for further hearing.

Basic amenities for the airport are put in place

Mumbai: A PIL has been filed in the Bombay high court seeking stay on the construction of Navi Mumbai Airport. Vanashakti, an NGO and activist Stalin Dayanand have filed this petition alleging CIDCO has violated conditions mentioned in the Environmental Clearances  given to them by the Union of India to construct the airport. The court has issued notice to the CIDCO and kept the matter on March 28 for further hearing.  

According to petition, mangroves will be cut to construct the airport, therefore EC put its condition that CIDCO would construct Mangroves Park. The petition has sought that CIDCO should bring the comprehensive Environmental Impact Study in the public domain.
