Trio held for thrashing two kids in Ulhasnagar
The Hill Line police arrested the three accused under sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.
Mumbai: The Ulhasnagar police has arrested a grocery shop owner and his two sons for allegedly thrashing two minor boys. The minors, who are aged around ten, were accused of stealing sweet snack and toffees. The minors were stripped, and their heads were shaved off. The trio also made videos of the minors’ public humiliation, which has gone viral. The Hill Line police arrested the three accused under sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.
On Saturday, the two boys decided to steal a few toffees and ‘chakli’ from the grocery shop of Imran Pathan. According to police officials, two sons of grocery shop owner caught the children when they were stealing the toffees.
A police officer said, “They first stripped the minors, then they shave off their heads. They called all other children from the society to watch it and humiliated the minors. The minors immediately went home and started crying. The minors were in trauma, so they did not even talk to their mothers initially.” The accused have identified as Mehemood Pathan (69), Irfan Pathan (26) and Tawaqlum Pathan (24).
Senior police inspector of Hill line police station M. G Waghmare said, “We received a video on WhatsApp after which we started searching for the shop. We have arrested owner and his sons. They have confessed their crime and said that the children had stolen toffees from their shop. Therefore, they have decided to teach the lesson to them.”
