Mumbai: Minister of state for cooperation and Shiv Sena leader Gulabrao Patil commented that as chief minister Devendra Fadnavis is a Brahmin, he would go ahead with the state Cabinet expansion after looking for the proper ‘muhurat (auspicious time) in the Panchangam’.

When reporters asked at Nashik about the Cabinet expansion, Mr Patil said, “It will be depend upon the muhurat. Mr Fadnavis is a Brahmin, so he will check the Graha, Rahu and Ketu in the Panchangam. I was accommodated in the Cabinet in the last expansion. Now BJP leaders will get chance in this expansion, Mr Patil said.

Mr Patil slammed the Union government on fuel prices issue, alleging that earlier in the advertisements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which were displayed at petrol pumps, there were old women in the picture alongside Mr Modi, but now models were being shown in these ads.

Though fuel prices are skyrocking, people are voting for the BJP, Mr Patil said. Speculations are rife about the Cabinet expansion and it is expected that Mr Fadnavis may go ahead with it in Navratri in October as five seats are vacant. Looking at the upcoming elections next year, Mr Fadnavis may give a chance to a few BJP leaders as he cleared appointments to some corporations recently, sources said.
