Pune: Demanding that the state government announce a drought, give jobs to the unemployed, reduce increasing prices and control electricity cuts, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) held a morcha in Pune. Ajit Pawar, ex-deputy chief minister, and Supriya Sule, MP, led the morcha from Nehru Memorial Hall till the Divisional Commissi-oner Office in Pune on Monday.

Mr Pawar, said, “The state government should announce droughts as farmers have already lost the kharif season due to insufficient rains and they sowed for the rabi season. But they are also on verge on losing the rabi season due no rainfall. When the Karnataka government has announced droughts based on the earlier rules and regulations, why is this government hesitant to do so? The state said that it would announce it after October 31. Why does it want to wait?”
