CR, WR services hit by tech issues

An official of WR said that a point failure was reported between Bandra and Mahim at 9.45 pm on the slow line.

Each WR station will have suggestions from the station manager, Railway Police Force, railway public committees and the Member of Parliament as well.

Mumbai: Central Railway (CR) services were affected over unknown reasons on Thursday afternoon, while Western Railway (WR) slow line services were affected due to point failure on Wednesday night. According to a WR official, a point failure was reported between Bandra and Mahim stations on the down slow line. Meanwhile, railway minister Piyush Goyal told WR and CR officials  that punctuality of trains needs to be improved without affecting routine maintenance work.

Sources in CR said that due to trespassing and some technical issues services were affected on Thursday making trains late by 15 to 20 minutes.

An official of WR said that a point failure was reported between Bandra and Mahim at 9.45 pm on the slow line. The point was fixed by 10.30 pm. The services were affected only on the down slow line. All the services on the three lines were running smoothly. Meanwhile, co-mmuters were clueless as to the delay. A daily commuter Kishan, who was returning home from Andheri, said that the train stopped between Mahim and Bandra station for almost 50 minutes and no announcement was made. A commuter, Dheeraj, said that the trains were delayed at CSMT for more than 20 minutes on Thursday. In the afternoon, the trains were running slow between Ghatkopar to Sion, said a daily commuter.
