Lawyer accuses Mikhail Bora of conspiracy
Mikhail, in his testimony, narrated a chain of events, which led to the death of Sheena Bora.
Mumbai: Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer on Thursday alleged that her son Mikhail Bora was behind the disappearance of his sister Sheena six years ago. Advocate Sudip Pasbola, appearing for Indrani, said that Mikhail and Indrani’s former driver Shyamvar Rai had entered into a conspiracy to cause the disappearance of Sheena as Mikhail wanted her share in the ancestral property.
Mikhail Bora on Monday testified in a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court against his mother Indrani Mukerjea in the Sheena Bora murder case. Mikhail, in his testimony, narrated a chain of events, which led to the death of Sheena Bora.
According to the prosecution, 24-year-old Sheena Bora was abducted and killed on April 24, 2012, allegedly over a financial dispute, and her body was disposed of in a forest in adjoining Raigad district. Sheena Bora was Indrani’s daughter from an earlier relationship.
During Mikhail’s cross-examination before special CBI judge J.C. Jagdale on Thursday, Indrani’s lawyer alleged that between January and April 2012, Mikhail spoke to Shyamvar Rai, the former driver of Indrani, on phone more than 207 times. On April 16, 17, 18 of that year, they spoke 34 times, the lawyer alleged. The advocate also suggested that Mikhail and Rai had entered into a conspiracy. However, Mikhail refuted the allegations of any conspiracy.
