Shiv Sena corporator expelled for not obeying orders
There are reports of the Ghosalkar father-son duo being in touch with BJP leaders and they might join the party.
Mumbai: The growing feud among Shiv Sena corporators in Dahisar, which brought huge embarrassment to the party, on Tuesday reached its anti-climax with corporator Abhishek Ghosalkar expelled from the party for not obeying party orders.
Sena last week was left red-faced when three party corporators — former mayor Shubha Raul, Sheetal Mhatre and Avkash Jadhav – were issued notices for inaugurating a garden at Dahisar during the election code of conduct period. The complaint was lodged by Abhishek, who is also the son of former MLA Vinod Ghosalkar. The BMC officials later registered a non-cognizable offence against the corporators with MHB police station at Borivali.
According to party sources, party leadership – irked by the entire incident – had asked Mr Ghosalkar not to pursue the matter and withdraw his complaint. The three corporators on Tuesday morning went to meet party chief Uddhav Thackeray at his residence Matoshri to record their protest against Abhishek. All this culminated in party leadership expelling Abhishek from the party. Following these developments, Abhishek was admitted to the ICU of Riddhivinayak Hospital in Malad owing to blood pressure problems. However, he is okay now, said his father. When asked, the senior Ghosalkar refused to say more on the issue. “I will make clear my stand by Wednesday,” he told the Asian Age.
