kidnapped minor rescued by cops within six hours

Police sources said that the minor was kidnapped on Friday around 4.30pm from A-G Link road in Tilak Nagar.

Mumbai: The Saki Naka police rescued a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, Shireen Fatima, within six hours of being kidnapped by Sandeep Parab (28) on Friday. The accused was arrested and charged under section 363 of the Indian Penal Code that pertains to kidnapping.  

Police sources said that the minor was kidnapped on Friday around 4.30pm from A-G Link road in Tilak Nagar. Shireen was playing outside her father's shop when she was kidnapped. Following which, her parents approached the Saki Naka police. The police immediately started  examining the CCTV footage around that area. After scanning through the footage, it became clear that Shireen Fatima was kidnapped by an alcoholic named Sandeep Shashikant Parab (28).  

Senior police inspector Avinash Dharmadhikari said, “Parab was arrested in Tilak Nagar area. The people gathered there tried to assault him, but due to the timely intervention of the police. After a sustained search, the girl was also traced.”
