Police cracks down on 2 bars, hookah parlour
In Powai's hookah parlour, police apprehended eight customers, the parlour's manager and seized two hookah stands and associate materials.
Mumbai: In a crackdown on illegal bars and hookah parlours, a police team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (zone 10) Navinchandra Reddy raided and apprehended three bars in Andheri on Saturday night. In these raids, the police picked up 10 staffers, 18 customers and rescued 17 girls.
Out of the rescued 17 girls from the dance bars, two were minors. The bars and hookah parlours that were raided falls under the jurisdiction of Andheri, MIDC and Powai police station.
The police raided White House Bar in MIDC area of Andheri (East), and rescued four girls, and arrested six staffers, including waiters and managers, and apprehended eight customers. In a similar raid at Renuka bar, the police rescued 13 bar girls, including minors, and apprehended three customers and two staffers.

DCP Reddy said, “These bars did not have licences for dance bar, and they were caught red-handed operating as such. The arrests have been made.”
