Nagpur: Though the seat-sharing talks in Mumbai are in process between the chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray for a state-wide pre-poll alliance, Shiv Sena on Tuesday demanded three seats in rural Nagpur and two in urban areas in Nagpur district (out of six).

Krupal Tumane, the second term Shiv Sena MP from Ramtek has demanded three seats in rural — Ramtek, Katol and Saoner for his party. “Our candidates are ready and we are confident of winning these seats,” said Mr Tumane.

During state-level meeting of seat-sharing with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), both parties agreed on not asking for seats, where the other party had secured victory in last election.

In conversation with the BJP working president J.P. Nadda  last week in Nagpur, the party workers were vehement against striking any alliance with Sena. “Even if the party forms an alliance, it should not give more than three seats to Sena,” said a senior party leader of the region.
