Mumbai: Adding to the social media frenzy, commoners too are becoming victims of body shaming.

Earlier it was just the actors who were targeted, but with time common people are also falling victims to body shaming comments.

Recently a 32-year-old woman was body shamed on Twitter by an African man for being fat, after an argument on the social networking website.

The victim then lodged a complaint with the Dadar police, and the cyber police is trying to get in touch with different authorities, as the accused is a resident of Africa.

Dr Sagar Mundada, a psychologist, said, “To get a perfect body image, people, mostly youngsters go on crash dieting and starving themselves, not realising that the definition of a healthy body is not to be slim, but to be disease-free.’
