MNS takes dig at Shiv Sena over Ayodhya visit
The MNS has put up posters in the Shivaji Park area in Dadar opposite Sena Bhavan.
Mumbai: Against the backdrop of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s Ayodhya visit, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has taunted the party saying that while it has embarked upon the tour with great zeal, its threats of tendering resignation still remain on paper.
The MNS has put up posters in the Shivaji Park area in Dadar just opposite Sena Bhavan. The posters say, “Ayodhyela Nighalo Joshat, Rajeename Matra Ajunhi Khishat” (We are going to Ayodhya with great passion, but our resignations continue to remain in our pockets).
The posters refer to the Sena’s constant threats of quitting the government as a mark of protest. The Sena has been threatening the ruling BJP that it will walk away from the government any moment but whenever such a time comes, the party develops cold feet.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that the MNS has mocked the Sena chief with provocative posters on the latter’s plans to visit Ayodhya to push for the Ram Mandir demand.
As soon as Mr Thackeray announced his Ayodhya tour at the party’s recent rally at Shivaji Park, the MNS poked fun at it with yet another poster.
Further, while offering the Sena good wishes for its Ayodhya visit, the MNS also asked several questions.
“You can go to Ayodhya, but will it make the state roads pothole-free? Will it offer employment? Will it stop farmers’ suicides? Will it end the corruption in the BMC?” asked the message on the poster.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray arrived in Ayodhya on Saturday afternoon along with his family for his two-day visit at the temple town.
