Court allows 14 Bhosales' men from Satara to file ABA
Shahapuri police had registered case under various section of IPC including attempt to murder section.
Mumbai: The Bombay high court has allowed anticipatory bail applications (ABA) of 14 workers of Udayan Raje Bhosale and Shivendra Raje Bhosale who had created nuisance in Satara district in October last year on the issue of handing over the Anewadi toll naka.
The court also directed them not to stay in Satara district till the charges are framed. The court also observed that nuisance had created due to the instigation of both the political leaders and said that “both the leaders have not approached any court of Law seeking pre-arrest bail as if to show that they are immune from arrest and the immunity comes by virtue of their status as law makers.”
Single bench of Justice Sadhana Jadhav that “in the present case one arrest would act as a deterrent and it would be easier for the police to control the law and order situation in Satara city, all are equal before law irrespective of their status in social life. The interest, safety and peace of society is above individual interest.
According to prosecution there were quarrel between supporters of Udayanraje and Shivendra pertaining to Anewadi toll naka, Satara district. On October 5, 2017, Shivendra had addressed a meeting in front of more than 400 followers and returned to his residence. Udayanraje and his followers in the night went to the Shivendra’s house and tried to enter it. Within no time, followers of both the groups had entered into an altercation and were challenging each other.
