Each student has to create an account with the FYJC portal in order to register himself/herself into the admission process.

Mumbai: Students applying for first year junior college (FYJC) admissions can collect the “FYJC admission booklet” from their respective schools, as the second part of the online admission process will begin shortly.

The admission booklet is said to provide students - of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR); outside MMR (OMMR); and outside Maharashtra (OMS) — methods on how to fill admission forms for FYJC admissions.

In the event schools do not have these booklets, students can visit https://mumbai.11thadmission.net which has a link named “latest notification” where they can find the nearest guidance centre to collect the booklet from. The booklet also has finalised names of 800 colleges along with a stream-wise and medium-wise chart for students to refer before they finalise the names of their preferred colleges. Last year, due to lack of understanding of the admission process, the students suffered, as they could not properly fill admission forms or secure seats in the junior colleges. Hence, the department, in order to give students a proper understanding, has given proper instructions along with pictures through these booklets.

This year, the department has an intake capacity of more than 3 lakh in 800 colleges for arts, science, commerce, and HSVC (vocational/bifocal) courses. The available seats for the centralised admission process are 70,192 for the academic year 2018-19.
