Politicians point fingers at each other

Mumbai: A political blame-game began on Monday as soon as waterlogging derailed some parts after heavy rains lashed the city and suburbs since Sunday.
The Congress blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena, who are part of the ruling alliance in the state, for their failure to deal with the rain. Sena being the ruling party in the civic body, BJP taunted its ally and held it responsible for Mumbaikars facing trouble.
However, Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray chose not to respond, saying that it wasn’t in his culture to pander to such allegations.
Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam slammed the ruling alliance saying “People have placed their faith on these parties and they have failed to live up to it. We can see waterlogging in almost everywhere in the city. The contractors-BMC commissioner-ruling partners nexus is drowning Mumbai every year.”
BJP Mumbai chief Ashish Shelar slammed Sena’s BMC elections campaign under the tagline, “karun dakhavla (we did it)”. “Those who used to say that they did it can now say that they ran away from their responsibility to serve Mumbai," he said.
Mr Thackeray said, “It is not in my culture to level allegations. I will reply at the right time,”
