Mumbai: Around 100 volunteers of the Maratha Kranti Morcha (MKM). which had given a call for Mumbai bandh on Wednesday to press for reservation for the Maratha community, moved around on foot, asking shop owners in the Dadar markets to down the shutters as a mark of solidarity, but failed to make any impact. The volunteers were tailed by vehicle-borne police personnel.
Shops at Bhavani Shankar Road, Dadar west, continued to function normally. The owner of Dolly Medico, Ramnik Tribhuvan, said, “Mine is a medicine store. Can I afford to keep it closed? What if there is a medical emergency?”
