Indrani wanted to kill me too, says Mekhail Bora
Indrani could have easily taken care of them but she didn't pay heed to his request of looking after her own parents.
Mumbai: “I am saved by the grace of God, had I drunk more alcohol (given by Indrani Mukerjea) that day I wouldn’t have been here speaking before the court today,” said Mekhail Bora before the court as prosecution witness in the 2012 Sheena Bora murder case. He also said that his grandparents didn’t deserve the way they died. Indrani could have easily taken care of them but she didn’t pay heed to his request of looking after her own parents.
Mekhail said that he doubts that when he was in Mumbai on April 24, 2012 they (Indrani and co-accused) might have already killed Sheena. Speaking about his elder sister’s death Mekhahil got emotional. He told the court that after 2012, he had no contact with Sheena. Indrani told him that Sheena had left to United States for higher studies. He alleged that Indrani avoided sharing Sheena’s contact number with him saying not to disturb her and she herself will call him on once she is settled there.
However, in August 2013, Indrani visited Guwahati to meet her parents but stayed in a hotel. Mekhail claimed that during this visit she called him at the hotel and offered him a drink and this was third time (in last few years) she gave him spiked alcohol. “I was feeling dizzy and was sweating despite being in an AC room, so I left the hotel.” According to him he got himself admitted to a hospital the next day where Indrani paid him a visit. She told him that she has plans to shift her parents to some old age home and she had also arranged a job for him in Mumbai.
Mekhail claimed before the court that he refused to accept this offer because Indrani refused to share the name of the old age home and details of the company where she had arranged a job for him. He also insisted that Indrani call up Sheena from her own mobile phone, as he wanted to speak to her. “However, she became angry and left the hospital saying she is discontinuing my pocket money and maintenance of my grandparents.” Since then she never helped her parents financially even when they were bedridden said Mekhail.
