Mumbai: The Shiv Sena has slammed the Narendra Modi government for failing to solve the problems of the middle class and working class.

Writing in the party mouthpiece, Saamna, Sena spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut acknowledged that Mr Modi continues to be a popular leader but added that the problems like hunger, lack of housing and unemployment are yet to be resolved.

The article noted that Mr Modi became popular as he dared to conduct surgical strikes in Pakistan and abrogate Article 370.

“Modi remains a popular leader. It, however, does not mean that the problems facing the middle and working class have been solved. They remain as it is. His actions against Pakistan and the abrogation of Article 370 are like ‘fast food’. Article 370 and surgical strikes are not answers for the food, clothing, housing and unemployment problem,” Mr Raut wrote.
