Mumbai: Mekhail Bora, a prosecution witness in the 2012 Sheena Bora murder case, on Thursday identified Sanjeev Khanna, Peter Mukerjea and his own biological mother Indrani Mukerjea in court as the accused persons he spoke about in his statement before the court. His was examined by prosecution and now defence lawyers would cross-examine him on August 1.

CBI counsel Kavita Patil asked Mekhail to identify 42 pages print outs, which were data taken from his mobile phone. It contended messages and e-mails shared to Mekhail by late Sheena Bora, which Indrani and Peter had sent to her. Objecting this, defense lawyer Gunjan Mangala said that the certificate admit these documents as evidence in the court of law only talks about print outs of text messages but those print outs also contained e-mails and hence non admissible.

Advocate Patil contended that the word ‘e-mails’ has found place in the certificate and hence all documents be allowed to be shown to the witness. Following this, the court granted permission to Mekahil to go through the documents.

Advocate Patil asked Mekhail if he could identify the accused he spoke about. Mekhail replied, “All three are sitting in the court”. Looking at the dock he added, “Sanjeev Khanna, Peter and Indrani.”
