Central Railway services affected due to rail fracture

A commuter at Ghatkopar said that 8.44 am train did not arrive even after 9.11 am.

Mumbai:A rail fracture was reported at Vikhroli station Up line at 8.46 am. The suburban services were hit in the morning hours due to the rail fracture. The services of the fast corridor were diverted on slow corridor owing to the delay on slow line too. The passengers had to face hardships till noon. The trains were delayed up to 25 minutes on fast-line in morning. However, the Central Railway (CR) spokesperson have denied the delay of the trains.

A commuter at Ghatkopar said that 8.44 am train did not arrive even after 9.11 am. A senior railway official said that few trains were diverted on the slow line after which the rail fracture was restored. A rookie lawyer Ranjit Prajapati, who was travelling from Ghatkopar to CSMT, said “CSMT bound train of 9.20 am arrived at Ghatkopar around 9.40 am. Generally, the train takes 28 minutes to reach CSMT, but it took 37 minutes,”

When contacted, CR spokesperson, A.K. Jain said, “The rail fracture was repaired by 8.55 am and few trains were delayed on fast line and slow line was normal.”
