Mumbai: The Ola and Uber cab drivers strike has ente-red its fifth day. Commu-ters, especially office-goers, have been suffering for the last five days and there has been no relief. However, despite the strike, there have been no official comme-nts from the companies. Maharashtra Rajya Rashtriya Kamgar Sangh (MRRKS) said that the strike would be continued over the weekend.

MRRKS reiterated that the strike would continue till the cab aggregators companies do not fulfil the demands over the base price.

A person travelling from Matunga to Kurla, said that he was asked to pay estimated fare of Rs 300 and later he decided to go in the BEST bus.

Sources from the cab aggregator companies said that, the drivers are being threatened to not ply cabs in the city. The protestors have been for-cing the drivers to continue the protests. How-ever, neither the Ola nor the Uber has issued any statement over the impa-sse between the cab drivers and the companies.

The city has around 50,000 app-based cars. The drivers of the cars were demanding a minimum base fare of Rs 100 to Rs 150, while per kilometre fare of Rs 18 to Rs 23 be determined.
