15 automobiles gutted in car shed blaze

Mumbai: More than fifteen cars were gutted in a fire that broke out in a cab parked in a car shed. The incident happened in Malaji Pada, Vasai. The blaze was brought under control after fire-fighting teams were dispatched to the spot. No casualties have been reported.
According to the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corpo-ration (VVMC) Fire Brig-ade, the fire occurred in the car shed at Malaji Pada, Sasunavgar, Vasai (east). While the fire beg-an on Saturday evening, the fire brigade control room was informed about it around 10.30 pm. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained.
The cars belonged to the car aggregator Cab Tabs. Unused cars of the aggregator have been lying around in the car shed and in open spaces along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway at Vasai.
Fire personnel said that the car shed was unattended and all the vehicles were in a bad condition. On January 17, several seized vehicles lying behind the police chow-kie at Kaner in Virar had gone up in flames.
