CM Fadnavis blames Opposition for farmers' troubles in Maharashtra
The chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said those partaking in Sangharsh Yatra are the ones responsible for the sorry state of Maharashtra farmers.
Mumbai: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday lambasted the opposition’s ongoing ‘Sangharsha Yatra’ by holding them solely responsible for the dire state of farmers in Maharashtra. “Those who are responsible for the farmers’ sorry condition are now on yatra today. This can’t be Sangharsha Yatra because they themselves are responsible for farmers’ sangharsha (struggle). We will counter their Sangharsha Yatra with our ‘Samvaad Yatra’ where BJP workers will reach to people and make them aware about government’s working,” said Mr Fadnavis. He made these strong comments in his concluding speech of two-day BJP state executive in Pimpri, Pune.
“Our victories in recent civic bodies and zilla parishad elections are proof of people’s support and love for the BJP. We need to work harder. BJP workers should not disconnect from people. Our Samvaad Yatra will strengthen the bonds between BJP and the public,” Mr Fadnavis Said.
The CM also tried to explain the tur dal crisis in Maharashtra. He claimed that his government has successfully procured largest number of tur in the entire country. “Out of 11 lakh tonne that is procured in India, Maharashtra alone has bought four lakh tonne. This number itself tells the government’s efforts to help farmers,” he said.
‘Samvaad Yatra is aimed to reach to 50 lakh houses in state, which includes two crore citizens and 25 lakh farmers. Capacity, commitment, character and credibility are four C’s that matter in social life. This must be our mantra for working towards people’s betterment,” said Mr Fadnavis.
Though Mr Fadnavis didn’t utter a word about probable induction of leaders from other party’s, state BJP chief Raosaheb Danave made indicated about it. “Now we need to stop giving entries to other people. Otherwise a day will come when we will have to placate a seat for their demands,” said Mr Danave. There is a buzz that Congress leader Narayan Rane is likely to join the BJP.
