Mumbai: The Sheena Bora murder case’s key accused Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer Sudeep Passbola has filed two applications on Wednesday to seek details related to tower-locations of her then-driver Shyamvar Rai’s mobile phones and hers in the Special CBI court. The defence wants to use the information while cross-examining Rai, who is an accused-turned-approver in the April 2012 murder case.

The defence will also seek to frame questions as per the details sought to make Rai’s statements weak in the case. CBI has sought time to file the reply, following which, the court has kept Rai’s cross examination for Thursday. The second application sought details on the Call Data Record (CDR) of Shymvar Rai’s two other numbers.

The CBI, in September 2015, had arrested Indrani Mukerjea, her driver Shyamvar Rai, her former husband, Sanjeev Khanna, and later, media baron Peter Mukerjea in the murder case of Indrani’s daughter Sheena Bora. CBI had filed a chargesheet in the case. Special CBI judge J C Jagdale is hearing the murder case of Sheena Bora in the session’s court.

At the last hearing, the CBI shared the video of exhumation of the place where Sheen’s body was found. The court also directed the CBI to provide all the 60 photographs of the place from where the body’s remains were exhumed. At this hearing, the team of defence lawyers of the three accused were shown the video and copies of it along with the images were shared with them.
