Nurse found hanging with cut wrists, police suspect murder

The body of Shiba Lindo was recovered by her landlady, who had gone to her room to check on her.

Mumbai: A 23-year-old nurse who was working at a private hospital was found hanging from a ceiling fan with her wrists slit at her room in Dongri on Monday afternoon. The body of Shiba Lindo was recovered by her landlady, who had gone to her room to check on her. No suicide note was found. The police is verifying if it was a case of suicide or murder. The deceased hailed from Assam.  

According to Dongri police officials, “The woman was found hanging from a rod in the ceiling of her home. The deceased had utilised a bedsheet for the hanging and had also slashed her wrists.” The police has registered a case of accidental death as there was no suicide note found on the scene. As a result, the motive behind her taking the drastic step remains unknown. Her body was sent to JJ Hospital for postmortem.

Shiba was working at Bhatia Hospital, Tardeo, sources said. However, a spokesperson of Bhatia Hospital said, “ She was not working with us, she had left the hospital three years ago.”
