Mumbai: The Shivaji Nagar police arrested a 48-year-old woman in connection with the murder of a sex worker, who was strangled and dumped in a plastic drum. This is second arrest in the case as the probe revealed that the victim had been murdered as the culprits knew she had Rs 40,000 cash and they wanted to get hold of it. The police said that second accused, Shobha Patil and the accused arrested earlier, Babu Patel (60) knew about the cash that the victim possessed and hence targeted her.

“Patil has been staying with Babu since last 20 years. The knew Meena, who was a sex worker residing in the same area. They insisted her for the money but she refused and so they hatched the plan to kill her and transported her body to Shivaji Nagar” said Shahaji Umap, deputy commissioner of police, (Zone VI).
