CR will run 132 Ganesh special trains for Konkan
The booking will begin from June 30.
MUMBAI: Central Railways (CR) will run 132 special trains for the Konkan region in order to clear the extra rush during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The booking of Ganesh special trains will commence from June 30.
According to a CR spokesperson, the special trains, which will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)/LTT/Dadar/Pune to Sawantwadi Road/Karmali /Ratnagiri/Pernem, will help clear the extra rush of passengers during the Ganpati festival.
The spokesperson also said that 44 special trains would be run between Mumbai and Sawantwadi Road for six days in a week.
The 01001 special will leave CSMT Mumbai at 12.20 am from September 5 to September 30 daily, except for Thursday, and will reach Sawantwadi Road at 2.10pm on the same day.
The 01002 special will leave Sawantwadi Road at 3 pm from September 5 to September 30 daily, except for Thursday and will reach CSTM at 3.40 am the following day.
The composition of this train will be two AC 3-tier coaches, 10 sleeper class coaches and six general second class coaches.
The eight Mumbai-Sawantwadi Road weekly specials (01007) will leave CSTM at 12.20 am every Thursday from September 6 to September 27 and will reach Sawantwadi Road at 2.10 pm on the same day.
The 01008 special will leave Sawantwadi Road at 3pm every Thursday from September 6 to September 27 and will reach CSMT at 3.40 am.
The 22 Mumbai-Ratnagiri-Panvel daily specials will run between CSMT to Ratnagiri.
The 01033 special will leave CSMT at 11.30 am daily from September 5 to September 15 and arrive at Ratnagiri at 10 pm on the same day.
