30,000 teachers to get pending dues
Teachers in government and government-aided schools have been complaining about the non-availability of provisions since the past few years.
MUMBAI: Thirty thousand teachers and other school staff in Maharashtra will receive financial aid shortly, state education minister Vinod Tawde said on Wednesday in the Legislative Assembly. Mr Tawde said that within two months, the official procedure for cle-aring all funds would begin and teachers and other teaching staff in schools would get their dues. He also said that 15 days after the Assembly session, the ministry office would initiate paper work.
Teachers in government and government-aided schools have been complaining about the non-availability of provisions since the past few years. These provisions include pensions, medical insurance, ICT aid and permanent salaries, among other things, and this aid plays an important role in bettering the infrastructure and other facilities for students and teachers.
They have been awaiting the government’s approval since the year 2003 while the salaries for teachers working from 2012 onwards was promised along with an approval of their post, which is pending too.
