According to the prosecution, the deceased used to make fun of accused due to which he opened fire at them.

Sessions judge D.E. Kothalikar convicted Rohitasav Harisinh Yadav for killing his two colleagues H.K. Singh and Som Dutt and attempting to kill two others Tuk Bahadur Thapa and Bhimsingh Lalsingh, all working as security guard at Air Force station in Santacruz. The incident took place in the intervening night of May 26 and May 27, 2014.

Public prosecutor Shankar Erande said that the accused was annoyed with the victims making fun of him and hence he shot them. Yadav had escaped from the spot after the incident. Nirmal Nagar police had informed the control room and naka bandis were placed on various parts of the city following which the accused was nabbed at Vanrai-Goregaon naka bandi.

Yadav had fired several rounds with his service SLR at the victims that resulted in death of two of his colleagues who were resting in a room at the station. He also targeted two other colleagues resting in the large rest room. Apart from his rifle, the police has seized live cartages and shells of bullets from the spot.

The testimony of Lalsingh and Thapa who were injured in the incident helped prosecution prove case against Yadav. Singh told the court how Yadav shot them with an intention to kill them. There were three members of Air Force also who had witnessed the incident had given statements to police about the incident. The ballistic and forensic report also helped nail Yadav.
