Issued ads to hire docs: Malegaon corp to court

Mumbai: The Malegaon municipal corporation had informed the court that it has already issued advertisements for appointing doctors to fill the seven vacant posts in the civic run hospital . A division bench of justices Naresh Patil and G S Kulkani was hearing a public interest litigation filed by a resident of Malegaon complaining of the absence of doctors in the civic run hospital.

The advocate for the civic body S S Patwardhan informed the court that the  posts were not filled due to absence of approval from the state and lack of funds. The state counsel informed the court that it had already given the approval.

The matter has been posted for further hearing on April 11 after the state sought time to discuss the issue of  salaries with the civic body.
