Yuva Sena wins senate election

In the 2010 election as well, the Yuva Sena won with eight seats.

Mumbai: The Mumbai University (MU) on Thursday declared the results of the final leg of the senate (graduate) elections. The Yuva Sena, the youth wing of the Shiv Sena, won all 10 seats, defeating the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) by a high margin.

After the victory, Yuva Sena chief, Aditya Thackeray, promised that Mumbai University’s sub-centres at Kalyan and Thane would start functioning.

The senate elections were conducted by the varsity after a gap of seven years under the Maharashtra Public University Act, 2016. In the 2010 election as well, the Yuva Sena won with eight seats.
