Last day to register for LS polls in state

This includes those in Mumbai that are going to polls in the fourth phase of the election next month.

Mumbai: Now, residents of 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra can register themselves as voters till March 30. This includes those in Mumbai that are going to polls in the fourth phase of the election next month.

The process of the 17th Lok Sabha election has begun and so far, notification for the first three phases of the election has been published.

Voting for six constituencies in Mumbai city and suburban district along with eleven other constituencies in the state will be held in the fourth phase i.e. April 29. Those who have not yet registered themselves as voters have a chance to do so, an official statement issued here Thursday said.

Notification for the fourth phase will be issued on April 2 and the last date of submission of nomination papers is April 9. In this phase, Mumbai north, Mumbai north west, Mumbai nor-th east, Mumbai north central, Mumbai south central, Mumbai south, Nandurbar, Dhule, Dind-ori, Nashik, Palghar, Bh-iwandi, Kalyan, Thane, Maval, Shirur and Shirdi constituencies will vote.

Citizens can register their names in the voters’ list ten days before the last date for filing of nomination papers.
