Maharashtra govt to set up incubators for start-ups in every district
As per the policy, every district will have one incubator with the help of public-private partnership.
Mumbai: In a bid to encourage start-ups in Maharashtra, the state has proposed setting up incubators in every district to focus on construction, textile, automotive, hospitality and biotechnology fields. The state is planning to set up six start-ups villages with modern technologies.
The policy for start-ups and innovation was recently released by the government, taking into consideration the changing scenario in the industrial sector. “Innovation in technology is the basic thing for any country’s social and financial progress. Information technology, nanotechnology have brought changes across the world helping the people to have a better living environment. With a view to provide a business friendly environment and encourage youths to innovate, the state government has brought its first policy on start-ups,” the policy draft said.
As per the policy, every district will have one incubator with the help of public-private partnership. “The six start-ups villages will have common facility centre, hall, meeting rooms, wifi, video conferencing, library. Nagpur and Aurangabad will have two international level accelerators. Every incubator will have modern technology, basic infrastructure research and development centres, audio-visual conferencing,” the policy draft said.
The government is expecting that top business houses would help in setting up Centre of Excellence in innovations and research and development.
