Petrol, diesel prices drop on 12th consecutive day
The price of petrol crossed the Rs 90 per litre mark a few days ago, while diesel prices crossed the Rs 80 per litre mark.
Mumbai: In a relief to the common man, petrol and diesel prices dropped on the 12th consecutive day on Monday.
The price of petrol crossed the Rs 90 per litre mark a few days ago, while diesel prices crossed the Rs 80 per litre mark. But with elections having been declared in November-December 2018 in five states including Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Mizoram and Telangana, the Union government, oil companies and the state government have given relief of over Rs 5 per litre on petrol and diesel prices.
With international prices of petrol and diesel dropping over the past 12 days, petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai decreased by Rs 3.08 and Rs 1.84, respectively. Petrol reduced by 30 paise and diesel by 21 paise on Monday. The price of petrol in Mumbai was Rs 85.24 per litre while that of diesel was rs 77.40.
In Delhi, the petrol price on Monday was Rs 79.75 per litre while diesel price was Rs 73.85 per litre.
