CBI to grill Andure, Lankesh killers together

The CBI has prayed before the Mumbai sessions court for examination of Sharad Kalaskar in ATS custody in presence of Sachin Andure.

Mumbai: The CBI on Thursday informed the Pune magistrate court that it wants to confront Sachin Andure, arrested in case of Narendra Dabholkar murder case, with the accused arrested in Karnataka in connection with Gauri Lankesh murder case.

The CBI also informed the court that it is seeking custody of the three accused who are presently in Bangalore jail in connection with Lankesh murder case and it wants to investigate on where these two accused persons got training to use fire arms.

The first class judicial Magistrate of Pune, S.S. Sayed has granted two days police custody to Sachin Andure. CBI counsel Vijay Kumar Dhakane also informed the court that Sharad Kalaskar another accused in Dabholkar case is in the custody of ATS till September 3.

CBI counsel Dhakane informed the court that they want to investigate on the hidden motorcycle used in the murder of Dabholkar and whereabouts of the firearm. He also said that high court is monitoring the investigation of this case and it has international ramification.     

Dr Narendra Dabholkar was shot dead by two assailants on August 20, 2013 at around 7.20 am at Omkareshwar Bridge, Pune when Dabholkar was on the morning walk. The Chargesheet was filed on September 6, 2016 against Virendra Tawade under section 120 (B) and 302 IPC.

Accused Sachin Andure was arrested on August 18 at 4.45 pm and was sent to ATS custody till August 30.
