Three persons were killed and 41 others injured, including eight grievously, when a mini bus on its way to Shirdi from Nashik dashed against a tempo and a tractor on the Sinnar-Shirdi road in Nashik on Friday night.

Wavi police station sources said that the accident occurred after 9pm in Khopdi Shivar of Sinnar tehsil in Nashik district after 9 pm.

The deceased include the mini bus driver Rajendra Ingle (50) of Vaijapur, tempo driver Rahul Pawar (35) of Rahata in Ahmednagar district, and passenger Sudhirkumar Baswant Kumar Bohora (29) of Aruha village in Dharmshala tehsil of Jajapur district in Orissa.

Ingle was trying to overtake the tractor and dashed against the tempo coming from Shirdi in the bargain. The bus was full of devotees from Orissa, heading for Shirdi from Nashik.
