Angry relatives of a 32-year-old man, who died at Noor Hospital in Kurla, vandalised the hospital accusing it of negligence.
Complaining of chest pain, Zakir Mohammad Ansari was admitted on Monday night. He died on Tuesday. Soon, his relatives started breaking chairs, windows and benches in the hospital. They alleged Zakir was left unattended for several hours since being brought to the hospital, due to which he died.
Dr Ejaz Ansari, a general practitioner and the brother–in-law of Zakir, said, “He was shifted to the ICU on the 16th. But no doctor attended him there. Even after his wife repeatedly called the doctors, no one came to attend him. It is a case of sheer medical negligence.”
However, Dr Aijaz Shaikh, the owner of Noor Hospital, said, “All the required treatment was given. My team was attending to him. Suddenly his condition became worse after he was shifted to ICU and he got a seizure, in which he suffered a massive attack and died.”
