Twenty-year-old Rizwan Ahmed Ali Nawazuddin alias Khalid had received three videos from his ISIS handler based in an unknown country in 2013, including one named Kandhar se Delhi tak, which highlighted the ISIS propaganda and included scenes of arms training of the ISIS army.

The same videos were also aired on Al Isabah Media used by the ISIS to spread their propaganda. The videos apparently served its purpose and Nawazuddin, who had just turned 18, started falling for the ISIS agenda, said investigators.

Nawazuddin received the URL links of these videos on YouTube. Sources from the ATS said that the videos are no longer on the site and were removed. The facts came out during Nawazuddin’s interrogation.

A source from the ATS confirmed the development but did not reveal who the ISIS handler was or from which country they were sent. However, the source did not deny the possibility that the handler could be Shafi Armar, a former member of the Indian Mujahideen and also a suspected chief recruiter of ISIS.

Even as the National Investigation Agency (NIA) sources have said that Armar, based in a foreign country, is the mastermind behind the recruitment of 14 men arrested in the recent crackdown on ISIS recruiters in India, the ATS is tigh- lipped about the development.

Armar is the brother of Sultan Abdul Kadir Armar, an ISIS armyman and also a member of the Indian Mujahideen, who was reportedly killed in the war in Syria.
