Mahim body case: Police shortlists 3 missing women

The Bandra police, investigating the heinous murder of the woman whose body’s decomposed middle portion was found at Mahim Creek, is taking the scientific route to ascertain her identity. The body was found on the night of September 22, dumped in a bag on the rocks.

The Bandra police, investigating the heinous murder of the woman whose body’s decomposed middle portion was found at Mahim Creek, is taking the scientific route to ascertain her identity. The body was found on the night of September 22, dumped in a bag on the rocks. The investigating officials went through 200-odd complaints of women in the age group of 20-40, who went missing from Pune, Pune rural, Thane, Thane rural and Navi Mumbai and have shortlisted three women based on their findings. They suspect one of these three women could be the victim and so have taken the DNA samples of their family members and have sent them to Kalina’s Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory . The lab already has taken the DNA sample of the victim and will try to find a match. The Bandra police has also sounded an alert on national wireless asking police from across the country to inform them about missing women matching the specifications of the victim. When contacted, investigating officer, police inspector, crime, R.S. Kane confirmed the development.
