A 40-year-old man lost his life after he was beaten up by his colleague and then pushed down from the terrace of a building Sunday evening. All this, because they argued while having a cup of tea.

The Andheri police has arrested Mahendra Prabhu (25) for murdering his colleague.

Police officials said Mahendra and Babu Bharti both were working in a shop in the JP nagar area of Andheri.

Once they were done for the day, the workers at the shop would prepare food and tea for themselves on the terrace of the building. As per their regular routine Sunday evening, around 7.30 pm, Bharti and Prabhu were having tea on the terrace. Suddenly, they started fighting and soon it took an ugly turn with both attacking each other physically. “Prabhu first thrashed Bharti with a bamboo stisck and then pushed him over the terrace wall,” said a police official, who did not wish to be named.

“We have arrested Prabhu for murdering his colleague Bharti. Prabhu was produced in court on Monday and remanded him in police custody,” said a police official.
