Policemen to get affordable 2 BHK flats soon

Thousands of 2 BHK flats will soon be made available Mumbai police constables at affordable prices.

A tender inviting project management consultants (PMC) to construct 10,000 homes admeasuring 650 square feet was issued on Saturday.

The Brihanmumbai Police Sahakari Grah Nirman Sanastha (BPSGNS) on Saturday issued a notice inviting request for proposal from the project management consultancy to develop affordable housing for police officers. From Monday, PMCs interested in constructing 10,000 homes for Mumbai police officers can approach the police. A public notice inviting builders to construct homes admeasuring 650 square feet for police officials on a 115-acre land parcel in Panvel was released by BPSGNS.

The tender documents will be available at the traffic police headquarters, which is located in Worli, from Monday till November 7. The cost of the tender document is '25,000, which is non-refundable and can be submitted by November 22.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on November 19 at Worli and the sealed tenders shall be opened on November 23. The earnest money deposit for the project is '10 lakh.

Harvinder Kaur Varaich, a member of the executive management of BPSGNS, said, “We have been working on this since 2012, and appointing the PMC is an important step.”
