The state government is trying to improve the prospects of SSC-failed students by giving them counselling and helping with development of skills. This information was given by Maharashtra education minister Vinod Tawade on Thursday in Nashik. He was speaking after the inauguration of the extension building at Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj college building.

Mr Tawde further said that the government was trying to ensure that no student fails in SSC. “Those who fail will be allowed to sit again. If they fail even in their second attempt, they will be counselled and the counsellors will check their aptitude. Through the skill development curriculum, their academic year will be saved,” he hoped.

He said that this was an attempt to change the education sector through a small modification. “The difference between information and knowledge should be understood and students should be given knowledge which moulds their life. The government will cooperate fully for new educational experiments,” he said.

Mr Tawde also said school curriculums would show Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as an excellent warrior and administrator.
