A class XII student was killed by two youngsters in broad daylight on Thursday at Indrayani College campus in Talegoan Dabhade, Pune. The two accused, both 16 years old, have been taken into custody by the police.

Though Chetan Dattatray Pinjan (17), the victim, was immediately rushed to a hospital, doctors declared him dead on admission.

Pinjan was a resident of the Indori area and a student of Indrayani College. According to the police, he had gone to college on Thursday afternoon as usual. “Chetan was riding his Bullet motorcycle. When he reached the college campus, the two accused, Omkar Thore and Sameer Raskar, attacked him from behind in the parking lot using sharp iron weapons. We took him to the hospital, but he was declared dead on admission. His body has been sent to Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem,” informed Vasant Babar, police inspector, Talegoan Dabhade.

The police has taken both Raskar and Thore into custody. Though police officers are yet to determine the exact reason behind the murder, they suspect a property dispute led to the incident.

“Dattatray Pinjan, Chetan’s father, has registered a complaint that Raskar runs a tea shop in the space owned by Pinjan. Pinjan has been asking Raskar for the past few months to remove his shop, but Raskar had not done so. There have been fights between them earlier also. But today, they killed Chetan,” inspector Babar said.
