Melody matters

Khushboo Grewal has already made quite a name for herself in her short career. Making her debut as a VJ, Khushoo has acted in multiple Hindi and Punjabi movies, besides making appearances on TV shows. It’s her music though that keeps her passion burning. Khushboo has sung for Sunny Leone in Pink Lips from Hate Story 2 and in the just released film Junooniyat, she has crooned the number Pagalon Sa Naach. In a rapid fire, Khushboo shares her musical choices. Excerpts: A song on repeat on your iPod these days Girl I Need You. It’s my latest release from Baaghi. Five songs that would feature in the ‘soundtrack’ for your life Chahe Koi Mujhe Junglee Kahe Yeh Toh Sach Hai Ki Bhagwan Hai Aaj Main Upar Aasman Neeche Rangeela Re Chithi Na Koi Sandesh A song you love to listen to when you’re: Happy and upbeat: Any Punjabi dance numbers and remixes. Really low: Sajnaa from movie Lamha Working out: Hard core Bollywood music. Music you loved as a kid or a teenager, that you’re now embarrassed by: Buba Buba from the movie Aap Ke Liye Hum. We would listen to it in and sing it during our trips in school and I didn’t know why we liked it! You’d describe your taste in music as: Very desi, rustic tones. Coke Studio renditions are among my favourites. My roots are very desi and I love songs rooted to the culture. Your favourite time to listen to music: While driving and the weather is nice, your phone is switched off... that’s my best time to listen to music. One band or musician you’d like to perform a private concert for you: I wish Michael Jackson performed for me. I think he is immortal and is truly a legend. He has reinvented music; a big salute to him.
