Song on repeat on my iPod: The rendition of Thumri Saiyyan Bina Ghar Soona by Ustad Nazakat Ali Khan and Ustad Salamat Ali Khan.
Five songs that best describe your life and why: Ye hausla kaise jhuke motivates me to never give up; Aas Paas Khuda, for my parents and my unwavering faith in god; Hero by Mariah Carey, sums up my approach to life. Chukar Mere Mann ko is the first song that I sang on stage as a five-year old. Hamare Baad Ab Mehfil Mein, aptly reflect my desire to do awesome work that I will be remembered for.
A song you love to listen to when: You’re happy and upbeat: Kishore Kumar songs You’re low: Soft, soothing songs You’re working out: Any song that is playing in my mind.
Music I loved while growing up, but am now embarrassed by: They say listening is half learning because it trains your ears. I come from a musical background, my family made sure that I was exposed to good music at a young age.
I’d describe my taste in music as: I listen to classical and semi classical (thumris and ghazals), folk, romantic ballads, contemporary pop, Bollywood, and am a little less fond of hard rock and metal.
My favourite time/way to listen to music during the day: I mostly listen to music when I am travelling or driving to my workstation or studio for the day. If at home, I listen to music whenever I feel like at any time of the day.
A band or musician you’d want performing a private concert for you: Celine Dion. I am a big fan.
One live act you would love to see at least once in your life: Yanni, live in concert.
