Romanian DJ and musician Edward Maya launched his first song Stereo Love that peaked at number two on the European Billboard for six weeks. Through the years, he has worked with artists like Akcent, Vika Jigulina, Blaxy Girls, DJ Sava, DJ Rynno, Payam Forghani and Liviu Hodor. Here’s what he revealed to us about his musical choices:

Song on repeat on my iPod: Coldplay’s Viva la vida

If I had to put together a ‘soundtrack’ for my life, the five songs on it would be: Maya’s Theme by Michael Danna; Now We Are Free feat Lisa Gerarld; Djuma Soundsystem by Les Djinns (Trentemoller Remix); The Schindler’s List theme and Chi Mai by Ennio Morricone.

What I listen when I am: Happy and upbeat: I Want to Break Free by Queen. Really low: Every Breath You Take by Police. Working out: New York, New York by Frank Sinatra. Music I loved growing up, but am now embarrassed by: I’ve always been stable in the things that I liked. So if I liked something during my childhood, I sure like it now too. I’d describe my taste in music as: I like music that makes me live emotions. I like songs that make me feel positive, happy and optimistic. My favourite time of the day/way to listen to music: I listen to music all the time! When I am flying between concerts, driving or caught in traffic, even during a walk in the park If I could have one band/ musician perform a private concert for me, it would have to be: Vangelis
