Singer Mika Singh is as best known for his fast-paced, foot tapping numbers, as he is for his electric personality that lends itself to his music. Recently, Mika lent his vocals tothe Salman Khan starrer, Sultan, with the peppy song 440 Volt. Mika will now be reinventing his 2001 track, Gabru, with a romantic twist. He will be seen lighting up the screen with actress Diana Penty, who he confesses to be a big fan of. We caught up with Mika for a quick chat:
A song on repeat on your iPod It would definitely have to be 440 Volt these days.
Five songs that would feature in the ‘soundtrack’ for your life Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag, Mauja Hi Mauja, Ganpat, 440 Volt and Subah Hone Na De would feature in my life’s soundtrack.
A song you like to listen to when you’re: Happy and upbeat: Jumme Ki Raat. Really low: Koi Hota Jisko Apna from Mere Apne. Working out: Michael Jackson’s The Way You Make Me Feel.
Music you used to love as a kid or a teenager that you’re now embarrassed by No. Being a musician I know how much love and dedication goes into making a song. I realise every song has something special in it.
You would describe your taste in music as I like all kinds, but some of my favourites are legends like Ghulam Ali Sahab, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab and RD Burman.
A band or musician you’d want to get a private concert from It would be a tough choice between Bryan Adams and Guns n’ Roses.
One live act you would love to see once in your life Without a doubt, Michael Jackson. I regret not having him seen live. As a kid I would try and emulate his style and I’d recommend every single track of his.
