Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut's much publicised ‘Simran’ released earlier this year. The Hansal Mehta directed film received mixed reviews from the critics and the audiences alike, and it ultimately bombed at the box-office.

Kangana Ranaut opened up about the results of Simran’s failure on her career. Kangana who was going to direct her directorial debut, Teju after the release of 'Manikarnika' has changed her plans. She revealed to a news channel, “Of course it was was the cards, but because Simran didn't work a lot for things changed for me, unfortunately. So now I'm going to be working in the capacity of an actor. There is another thriller I'm doing and another inspirational story after that. So you still have to wait to test my directorial skills.”

 Speaking on 'Teju', Kangana had earlier said, “It is a children’s film, and I have a lot of ideas and excitement for it. But it will be a difficult project to pull off, and I am looking forward to it.”

Kangana will be next seen in 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi', a period film  directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by Kamal Jain and Zee Studios.

The highly anticipated biographical film is based on the life of the queen of the princely state of Jhansi, Rani Laxmibai and her war against the British East India Company during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.

The film, which also stars Sonu Sood and Ankita Lokhande, is slated to hit the theatres on April 27, 2018.
