I was never called beautiful, says Kangana Ranaut
For me 'Rangoon' indeed was a refreshing change. I liked being beautiful.
Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut feels 'Rangoon' has been a refreshing change for her as she has been termed 'beautiful' in the film.
The 29-year-old actress, who is currently on a promotional spree for her upcoming movie 'Rangoon,' recently sat down with film critic Anupama Chopra, along with co-star Shahid Kapoor and discussed how important is it to be an actor to be a big star and whether they pick up films, keeping this factor in mind.
During the conversation, Kangana said, unlike her other films, she had to look beautiful in 'Rangoon,' who two men fall in love with. Hence it was refreshing for her.
She explained, "To me, it was a fresh change, where director sees me as someone who is beautiful and whom two men can fall in love with. My character Julia is apparently beautiful; there is a charm to her which is unusual; that made me feel nice. The way he (Vishal Bhardwaj) used to tell his crew- 'I want Kangana to look this way, because she is so beautiful' and I am like, 'this adjective has never been used for me.' Hence, for me 'Rangoon' indeed was a refreshing change. I liked being beautiful.
On that note, Vishal Bhardwaj directed ' Rangoon,' which stars Saif Ali Khan, Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor, is all set to hit the theatres on February 24.
