Ganapati is an energy with various forms and each form has a specific effect on body and environment.

We have come down from Satyug, through Treta and Dwapar, to Kalyug — the darkest of the four yugas. Darkness here refers to the ignorance, or lack of gyan — because of which everyone is chasing the physical or the unreal, and believes that to be the ultimate reality of birth and life.

In earlier yugas, the thoughts and desires were undiluted, there was purity in elements and consciousness was the prime energy through which things were carried out. Because the purity levels were high, consciousness manifested easily. As the yugas progressed and dilutions started setting in, there arose a need for gods. Thirty-three crore gods were created, namely Prajapati, Indra, eight Vasus, 12 Adityas and 11 Rudras and each god was assigned a specific role in manifested creation.

Ganesh is one such energy, the lord of ganas or masses, and it is the closest to physical creation — the world as seen by a lay person. Every aspect, posture and mudra of Ganesh has a deep-rooted significance pertaining to physical creation. The elephant head symbolises supreme intelligence, the human body with large belly symbolises a reservoir of energy stored in the manipoorak chakra at the navel. Ganesh is the child of Mahadev, the supreme purush, and mother of the creation, Adi Shakti, a combination of all aspects of creation. Riddhi (prosperity) and Siddhi (spiritual powers) are married to Ganpati, which indicates Ganpati is an energy which bestows spiritual as well as worldly boons, confirming the philosophy given in shastras, that attainment of worldly pleasures is essential for attainment of higher realms- moksha or liberation. He is the pratham pujya, the first to be invoked, before starting anything in physical — be it a house, a business or a sadhna.

In Tantric Siddhant, the first sadhna given to a sadhak is Ganapati sadhna and Ganapati jaap, which opens the doorway to lokas beyond the bhu-loka, the physical dimension in creation. Ganapati sadhna is powerful and illuminating, it is the easiest of all tantrik sadhnas and on completion grants sidhhis to overcome hurdles and remove all obstacles and evil influences from one’s life.

Vedas are pure science of energy and every aspect is perfect and precise. Ganapati is an energy with various forms and each form has a specific effect on body and environment. For example, the right trunked Ganapati is harbinger of siddhis, while left trunked Ganapati brings in material growth. Two idols of Ganapati are not placed together as they lead to a clash of energy creating chaos, and so the idols are place as single or in threes or fives or so on. It is advisable to take up the science of Ganapati sadhna under a guru who has the sidhi of this energy.

Vedic sciences are not wisdom, but gyan, they are an experience not knowledge, under a right guru one comes to know the subtler dimensions and experiences gods and even enlightenment. Under a fake guru, one is doomed to the dark worlds.

On the occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi come experience a Vedic havan with invocations at Dhyan Ashram on September 2, 2019.
